...So said because the internet is a big, fat, frigging scary place.
This is new for me - I am a writer by training, trade and temperament but I am used to word-processed documents returning to me covered in the marks of a flare-pen bearing the wisdom of those more educated than myself. Exposing myself to the general public is a new, cold, frightening and perhaps embarrassing experience for me, unless I can manage the chutzpah to just thrust myself out there for all I'm worth (extended double entendre +1).
So I guess this means I need to do something interesting to keep everyone's attention, and fast. Hmm.
I'm in a movie! (There. That worked? Phew.)
We'll, I'm making a movie. Actually I'm helping to make a movie. It's a legitimate movie too. I am, in fact, a production assistant for the movie Killing Poe, the first feature film from the wonderful minds at Emeritus Productions (http://www.emeritusproductions.com/). We are in the pre-production process right now and I will be documenting it all as it happens here, on Twitter, and on YouTube.
Now, you're probably wondering why you should be interested at all. Well, besides the fantastic behind-the-scenes looks you'll be getting at the entire movie-making process, here's an excerpt from our Facebook page:
"The class on Edgar Allen Poe was supposed to be 'poetically profound and marvelously macabre.' But when a group of college students gets stuck with the mind-numbing professor, Dr. Lynch, they decide to take matters into their own hands by teaching him a lesson in true Poe style. The film combines humor with the surreal, blending dream with reality. As the poetry of Poe stirs the imagination, the plot thickens and the interpersonal dynamics of this cast of characters are woven together. Sooner or later they all must face the question - What do you do when freedom is under threat and so little time remains to make things right?"

I won't just be giving updates on the movie - hopefully this will be a creative outlet for me as well that will provide endless entertainment for you readers. You can follow me on Twitter (see below... yes, way below) @ProdAssistPoe11 for regular updates on Killing Poe, or you can follow just me @errinyis to put a little snark in your life. You can also look me up on YouTube as either ProdAssistPoe11 or Errinyis with similar results, they'll just feature my wonderful face. I'm on Facebook too . . . but then you run the risk of being creepy :)
I hope this sparks your interest, gets you hooked and keeps you reading. Drink and be filled. And enjoy it while you're at it.
